Outside Sales Representative

A Japanese industrial equipment manufacturer is looking for an outside sales representative with a proven track record in sales to join their team in Chicago IL. The ideal candidate must have prior experience in sales, with a strong ability to articulate quantitative achievements.

This role involves minimal cold calling as inquiries are predominantly inbound, but those skills would be a plus. You will be representing the company, a leading manufacturer of tabletop robots, specializing in tightening screws, cutting, and assembling products for various industries.

With the products being used in factory automation across sectors such as automotive, electronics, semiconductor, and telecommunications, you'll play a crucial role in serving this company's diverse clientele. This position offers the opportunity for career growth and a competitive salary package, including monthly incentives with potential for higher earnings based on sales performance.

【Essential Duties 】

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing clients, ensuring their needs are met and identifying opportunities for upselling or cross-selling.
  • Respond promptly to inbound inquiries, providing product information, quotations, and solutions tailored to customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth order processing, timely delivery, and resolution of any customer issues.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market demands to identify new business opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer visits, showcasing our products and capabilities.
  • Prepare regular sales reports, including forecasts, pipeline updates, and customer feedback, to track performance and inform strategic decisions.

【Qualifications】

  • Proven experience in sales, with a demonstrated ability to meet or exceed targets.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes or industrial automation is advantageous but not essential; willingness to learn and adapt is key.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and results-driven attitude.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, approximately once a month, primarily within the Midwest region, with occasional overnight stays.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required; candidates with relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and CRM software is desirable.
  • Fluent in Japanese is a plus but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year

Compensation package:

  • Commission pay

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed
